L'arte pop in Italia. Pittura, design e grafica negli anni sessanta
L'arte pop in Italia. Pittura, design e grafica negli anni sessanta
Exhibition catalogue (Galleria Niccoli, Parma 1999/2000)
Curated by Plinio De Martiis. Texts by Tersilla F. Giacobone, Giannino Malossi, Alan Jones, Alessandro Riva, Daniela Lancioni. “I remember Pop Art as something joyful like the windows of the shops in the city; engaging like the billboards; fascinating like advertisement. And now my old preconceptions, which are however still very common, make me smile when I think that, when looking at works like Mauro Schifano’s Coca Cola or Esso, I used to criticise the way in which the artist surrendered to American cultural imperialism. Quite on the contrary, Pop Art meant liberation” (P. De Martiis). Works by Mimmo Rotella, Franco Angeli, Roberto Barni, Umberto Bignardi, Mario Ceroli, Claudio Cintoli, Tano Festa, Giosetta Fioroni, Piero Gilardi, Ettore Innocente, Sergio Lombardo, Renato Mambor, Gino Marotta, Fabio Mauri, Concetto Pozzati, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Gianni Ruffi, Mario Schifano, Cesare Tacchi.
