Il marmo e la celluloide

This catalogue presents the exhibit dedicated to sculpture and cinema organised during the Versiliana festival, held in the Versiliana Villa in Pietrasanta. The works of some of the most prominent Italian and international artists, who during their career have explored the relationship between sculpture and cinema, between the fleeting vision of the film and the lasting mark of the sculpture, between the short-lived celluloid and the indestructible marble, are on display. This work highlights the interaction between the two arts and shows how many directors have dealt with sculpture, in the same way as many sculptors have abandoned the traditional static nature of this art to introduce in their installations video elements inspired by the cinema
