Reversing the Eye. Fotografia, film e video negli anni dell’arte povera

Produced with Jeu de Paume and LE BAL, the exhibition explores the relationship of certain Italian avant-gardes with the mechanical image, i.e. photography, cinema, and video, between the 1960s and the early 1970s. Beginning with the major exponents of Arte Povera, the exhibition brings together the artists, and photographers in particular, who accompanied the development of the mechanical image or were a point of reference and source of inspiration for its creation, highlighting the revolutionary role played by photography and its multiple cross-fertilizations with other forms of artistic expression.
