The Grand Italian Vision: The Farnesina Collection

The traveling exhibition “The Great Italian Vision. Farnesina Collection” inaugurated its Japanese stage in Tokyo today. In addition to the famous art critic and curator of the exhibition, Achille Bonito Oliva, Ambassador Umberto Vattani, president of the Italy-Japan Foundation, was also present at the inauguration.
The exhibition ranges from the historical avant-gardes to the current advent of digital through 72 works ranging from Futurism to Metaphysics, from Arte Povera to Transavantgarde and Informal Abstraction up to latest stylistic and content research. On the occasion of the inauguration of the exhibition in Tokyo, Ambassador Vattani retraced the circumstances that gave life to the Farnesina Collection, created in 1998 precisely by the will of the ambassador and which became the first showcase of the Italian contemporary art scene "when the great museums of Contemporary Art, neither in Rome, nor in Naples, nor in Milan".
