The Grand Italian Vision: The Farnesina Collection - New Delhi
What is art, if not an exploration of the imaginary to create its own vision? Pushing the boundaries of the tangible, The Grand Italian Vision: The Farnesina Collection is an Italian art exhibition curated by Achille Bonito Oliva from the Farnesina Collection (Collezione Farnesina) – an extraordinary collection of contemporary Italian art housed in the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Rome. The Farnesina Collection bears witness to the wealth of a cultural heritage which, thanks to the intuition of then Secretary General, Umberto Vattani, has even been able to inhabit the spaces of the Italian Foreign Ministry. From the end of the Nineties, with passion and steadfastness, he built up a dynamic collection that enabled the creation of an itinerant exhibition with more than 530 works by 280 artists. Today, after its first ever international debut in Singapore in February 2023 and the following Japanese stage in Tokyo (March-April 2023), The Grand Italian Vision: The Farnesina Collection lands in India, New Delhi at Bikaner House (26 May-22 June), spotlighting the grandeur of Italian art from the 20th Century till today through a meticulously curated journey amidst 70 masterpieces.
