Brunelleschi e noi (1977)

Brunelleschi e noi [We and Brunelleschi], dating back to 1977 and realised in the Chiostro di S. Maria Novella in Florence, is an unfinished pyramid made of sand. A beam of light projected on one of its sides creates a large shadow in which the words The universe is not complete can be read. These same words are - white on black – written on a painting hung nearby. This sentence reveals the meaning of the exhibition: the shadow, representing the universe, covers the pyramid completely only if we look at it from the front; as soon as we look from the side, we discover its incomplete nature.
